Today I'm bringing to you a playlist that inspires me to write. It also helps me to come up with ideas about where The Stone Birds story is heading. Be careful of spoilers if you haven't read it yet.
If it is your first time on my blog, please check out the story HERE.
#1 Anouk - Birds
I first heard it at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest when Anouk was representing Netherlands. The song started haunting me right away and listening it gave me the idea to even start writing Stone Birds.
#2 Paramore - Hard Times
If anyone dares to say that Andy isn't going through hard times, they are deceiving themselves. I just love the contrast between the meaning of this song and its sound. It might or might not be the song that inspired Andy to start a revolution.
#3 Adrian von Ziegler - Crann Na Beatha
I don't remember exactly when my love for Celtic music began. It is so beautiful and makes me imagine all sorts of stories in my head. And the composer of this particular masterpiece is a complete genius. I've listened to so many of his works but Crann Na Beatha is my all time favorite. It is also a great song to listen to when studying. The title itself means Tree of Life so maybe you'll be seeing that concept somewhere in the story, too.
#4 Panic! At the Disco - Ready to go
I've been a fan of PATD for a really long time. And this song describes some of the emotions from chapter six so well. Andy wants to leave, her brother doesn't or does he? It takes a strong mind and some kind of a change to create a wish to leave everything you've ever known before. This song was also my ringtone back in 2011.
#5 Thirty Seconds to Mars - Hurricane
Every time I listen to this song the lyrics hit me hard. I hope to achieve that with my story as well. It raises a lot of important questions that probably will be featured in the book soon enough.
That's it for today. Also, I wished to thank everyone who has been reading my blog and happy one week anniversary! Here's a party cat gif.
